Material specific instructions:
-
Drain all items, such as yard care tools, of gas and other fluids.
-
Bag printer and toner cartridges to prevent ink leaks.

What happens to the recycled items?
Scrap metals are sorted by property and sold to mills to produce raw material that are then made into new products. Electronics are either refurbished and given a second life or broken down into many different commodity categories and the precious metals are extracted. Read about 1 Green Planet's electronics recycling process and certifications on their website.

If you’re unable to attend the event or you have items that aren’t accepted, no problem! Scrap metal and electronics recycling is available year-round in Kitsap County. Visit Recycle.Kitsap.Gov to search for a recycle location.
