Just about four years ago, I was doing the same thing as many of you today: Getting ready to tune into the first presidential debate of 2020, wondering if Donald Trump would finally be able to engage in a respectful, civil, and informative debate on the issues -- just like our presidential candidates (of both parties) had done for decades.

Instead, we watched Trump lie, interrupt constantly, and refuse to denounce a white supremacist group. It was a disgraceful and frankly embarrassing performance.

With Trump and Biden set to take the stage again, I'm reminded of that debate -- and how emblematic it was of the America we lived in under Donald Trump and his MAGA Senate majority.

But I also find myself thinking about how much stronger we have become under President Biden and Senate Democrats -- and how we can keep putting the MAGA extremists' politics further and further behind us if ordinary Americans stand up to Donald Trump and his divisive movement again in November.

At the debate, President Biden will talk about his incredible accomplishments. Many were made possible by our Democratic Senate majority -- the very same majority that's on the line in November. This is our chance to keep moving forward under President Biden -- so before they take the stage tonight, I'm asking for your help.
