Urge candidates to commit to zero-tolerance of misogyny and racist misogyny. Write to your candidates today!

Dear Friend,

As we edge towards next week’s election, it's clear that our work is far from over. The recent wave of comments made by some political party candidates underscores the urgent need for a united stand against misogyny in politics. Now, more than ever, we need your voice to ensure that every candidate commits to creating a respectful and inclusive political environment.

From candidates making reprehensible remarks about women’s bodies ([link removed]) to jokes trivialising domestic abuse ([link removed]) , the examples we've seen are alarming. These comments are a stark reminder of the toxic attitudes that still persist.

These incidents are not isolated; they reflect a broader culture that tolerates and normalises misogyny.

However, there is positive news on the horizon. Thanks to the Fawcett community, over 750 letters have been sent to candidates, urging them to take the pledge. As a result, over 180 candidates have signed to commit to taking a zero misogyny approach to their campaigning this election period!

The Fawcett Society is once again calling on its members to take action. If you haven’t done so already, we urge you to write to your candidates and ask them to sign the Zero Misogyny Pledge. This pledge is a crucial step towards holding political representatives accountable and ensure they uphold the values of equality and respect.

This is not a partisan issue; it is a societal imperative. By encouraging your candidates to commit to this pledge, you are helping to build a political landscape where misogyny has no place, regardless of party affiliation.

Take Action Now: Write to your candidate's and urge them to sign the Zero Misogyny Pledge today.
