Chair's Corner
Aloha Fellow Republicans,
In these times, for our state and nation it is more important to prioritize the integrity of our elections. Recent challenges with the Hawaii Election Commission have highlighted the need for us to be actively involved and vigilant. The conduct observed during their meeting on June 19th and their failure to address the majority vote calling for Scott Nago's removal, despite receiving numerous letters and testimonies, serves as a stark reminder of why we must persist in our efforts.
When will our public servants truly listen to us? These "lawmakers" do not give us rights, they swear an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution for the United States and the Constitution for Hawaii. We the People have unalienable rights given to us by God, not lawmakers. Those rights are guaranteed in the said documents. It is imperative that our concerns are taken seriously. It is both our right and responsibility to stand up and ensure that the election process is conducted fairly openly and with transparency, and that the ballot remain secret.
We must stand firm in advocating for principles that protect our rights. This includes conducting elections in every precinct using paper ballots, hand-counting on site, not in a centralized counting center, phasing out electronic voting systems, and ensuring transparency throughout the process. Our advocacy for voting methods is essential, in preserving the foundation of our Republic.
Important deadlines are fast approaching:
The upcoming Primary Election is scheduled for August 10th, with mail-in ballots set to be sent out on July 23rd and voting centers opening on July 29th. We need all eligible people to register to vote and show up. Get your neighbors, friends and families involved. Let's work together to organize town halls, and ballot parties. (Check your voter registration status, even if you think you are registered).
I encourage each of you to participate, stay informed and rally your communities. Let's stand in unity driven by a goal and put in efforts to safeguard the integrity of our votes. Our combined actions are essential, in ensuring that our electoral process truly reflects the desires of the populace.
Your commitment and enthusiasm is appreciated. Together we can uphold the values that fortify our Republic. Contact your county Republican Party leaders (here) and ask what you can do to help. Ask about getting involved with the elections. Ask about how you can help us build and strengthen the party and truly represent the grassroots...the voices of the people.
Mahalo,
