Georgia introduces election security training for police

Tennessee is the latest state to ask voters for proof of citizenship
* The Tennessee secretary of state's office sent ([link removed]) letters to over 14,000 voters asking them to verify their U.S. citizenship. State Rep. Gloria Johnson (D) says the move is an attempt to intimidate voters.

Right-wing groups continue to file anti-voter lawsuits ahead of November

* Right-wing legal group PILF filed ([link removed]) a lawsuit to require Clark County, Nevada to investigate voters who are allegedly registered at commercial addresses, claiming this violates state law. PILF filed a similar lawsuit in Washoe County last month.

11th Circuit issues long-awaited decision on National Voter Registration Act
* 11th Circuit ruled ([link removed]) today that pro-voter nonprofits can retain access to records they sought from Alabama's secretary of state about voters purged after the 2020 election, but the state is not required to produce those records electronically.

Victories for voters
* After the U.S. Supreme Court declined ([link removed]) to hear their lawsuit trying to ban voting machines in Arizona, election-denying duo Kari Lake and Mark Finchem’s case has once again failed in the 9th Circuit.
* The first Black mayor of a small, majority-Black Alabama town will finally be able to take office ([link removed]) nearly four years after the previous white leaders blocked him from taking office. In a new YouTube video ([link removed]) , Democracy Docket’s Sophie Feldman breaks down the story.
