Dadgummit, I’ve got some great news, JOHN.

My bill, the No Tax Dollars for the Taliban Act, passed in the House yesterday. It’s a real no-brainer if you ask me, and it would bring the current insanity to a screeching halt.

This isn’t a down-the-rabbit-hole theory spun up by a bunch of internet trolls wearing tin foil hats. The hard, cruel fact is that do-gooder organizations we funnel money into can’t stop the cash from flowing into terrorists’ wallets. Just last week, the House heard that tens of millions of dollars of U.S. humanitarian aid to Afghanistan may have ended up with the Taliban.

Not one PENNY of Americans' hard-earned money should end up in terrorists’ hands, and if I can push this legislation through the finish line, it will force the State Department to report which countries and organizations give aid to the Taliban so that we can decide whether they should receive American tax dollars. 

My hope is that we're just months away from getting a new president who is willing to tear down and rebuild the State Department to nip this in the bud. But in the meantime, we now have a good piece of legislation that actually does something—and that's exactly why I came to Washington.
