How can we serve more patients? How quickly can we get more resources
to do it? How can we do more-much, much more?

These are the questions that have repeatedly crossed my mind over the
past few weeks. Our goal at Children's Hospital Los Angeles is to make
sure the physicians and nurses have the resources they need to help
the children who need us most-without interruption, without
delay.

In the midst of a global pandemic, these questions take on a sharp new
urgency. Critical medical supplies are much harder to obtain. Parents
are struggling to find childcare while schools are closed. The effect
on our patient families is significant.

Our patients and their families are counting on us as they always
have. But right now, the need is even greater-and even harder to
meet. Can you help make sure we're there for them?

The reality is that our patients, their families and our team members
all need more from us than ever before. And we must be able to
deliver. This crisis demands nothing less. That's why we've created
the COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund to help meet the increased
need-and why I'm turning to you, as a member of our community,
to help jump-start this fund with a gift to meet this unprecedented
challenge.
