2025 mountain lion season approved
Nebraska Game and Parks approved staff recommendations for a 2025 mountain lion hunting season at its June 21 meeting in Ogallala.
For the first time, a hunting season will take place in the Wildcat Hills. A Wildcat Hills Unit was created, joining the existing Pine Ridge Unit and Niobrara Unit as areas that allow mountain lion harvest.

The Super Tag lottery offers tags for elk, turkey, deer and antelope; both residents and nonresidents may enter.

Resident big game purchase period begins July 10
Heads up, Nebraska residents: You may buy any elk, deer and antelope permits, within permit limits, starting July 10, 2024, to the close of the season.
*The nonresident purchase period begins July 24* and runs through the close of the seasons. Nonresidents may buy any limited antelope and deer permits in any unit, subject to availability and within permit limits. Learn more in the Big Game Guide.
