John,

Tomorrow is the first presidential debate of 2024. We don’t know what will happen, but one thing is for sure:

Donald Trump is certain to tell dozens of lies on the debate stage tomorrow night. In fact, he’s already lying, shamefully attacking Biden’s age by suggesting that his debate prep includes cocaine and steroids.

So Is the media ready to fact-check Trump and stop the barrage of misinformation that is certain to follow?

We’ll explain how we’re preparing to do our part to correct the record and protect our democracy in a moment, but if you’re ready to help fund COURIER’s fearless, factual news coverage, can you chip in $20 now? [[link removed]]

John, Donald Trump has always been a con man. Telling lies and spreading misinformation is central to who he is, but recently he’s taken lying to a whole new level.

Just last week, he held a rally in Wisconsin where he told more than 30 lies — That’s one lie every three minutes . The fact-checkers at Politifact have published nearly 1,100 checks on Trump. A mere 3% of those fact-checked claims have been marked “true.” By comparison, 75% have been found “mostly false,” “false,” or “pants on fire.”

In recent weeks, Trump and right-wing influencers like Joe Rogan have suggested that Biden is injecting himself with drugs to perform basic campaign functions.

Tomorrow’s debate will only bring more lies and conspiracy theories to the table. We have to fight back.

COURIER was founded for this moment, John. We’re not afraid to call out Trump, Rogan, Fox News, and other Republicans when they tell lies and spread conspiracies.

We meet people on their social media feeds and in their email inboxes, where they’re most likely to encounter their nonsense, and instead amplify the truth. The best part? All of our news is free to read.

To continue providing this essential service in our eleven battleground states, we need support from donors like you. Right now, we have a flash goal to raise $5,000 ahead of tomorrow night’s debate to help support our fact-checking efforts. Can you chip in $20 now to help us reach our goal? [[link removed]]
