Hey, it’s Aru.
I’m on my way home from NY after Jamaal Bowman’s election last night. I’m not gonna lie; I’m really angry.
So, I wanted to write a longer message sharing what this means for our movement.
But before I do that, I want to ask you to split a $5 donation between Rep. Cori Bush’s campaign and Sunrise Movement. The billionaires have their sights set on her next. [[link removed]]

Right-wing billionaires spent $18 million dollars to defeat Jamaal Bowman, making it the most expensive House Primary in US history. Sunrise Movement contacted 190,000 voters for Jamaal Bowman, we’re going to need to do that and more to protect Cori.
I’m angry that we live in a political system where billionaires can throw their money at an election. I’m angry at how the Democratic Party leadership enables them.
In moments like this, it’s easy to throw your hands up and say, well, the people with the money always win, what’s the point of fighting to win elections? And, to be honest, I feel that way a little right now.And I think it's really important not to do that. Because I’m also feeling hope.
We are winning the battle of ideas. We are winning the battle for the heart and soul of the American public. Millions of people have been in the streets calling for a ceasefire.
The reason these people spend this incredible amount of money is because our agenda is popular and we are winning. They are scared of what our movements and elected officials like Jamaal are achieving and how we’re shifting the ground under their feet.
This felt really true as I talked with hundreds of voters over the past few days. Over and over again, people were with us on our vision for the world but were confused by the barrage of ads that spread lies and misinformation about who Jamaal is.
So, where do we go from here? The MAGA billionaires aren’t done. Now, they’re headed to Missouri. And so are we.
Cori Bush has dedicated her life to fighting for justice, equity, and transformative change. Despite the attacks she gets from the right, she shows up every day to stand up for working people, people of color, and the people of Palestine.
They don’t get to win this one. We refuse to back down. Next week, we’re kicking our work to re-elect Cori Bush into high gear. But, we need the funds to defeat these far-right attacks. Your donation helps us do exactly that.
Can I count on you to split a donation between Sunrise and Cori Bush? [[link removed]] Every dollar will go towards canvassing efforts, and phone banks that will help protect her in this fight.
