Team,
With 22 million people filing for unemployment, it's clear that working Americans need more than a one-time relief check to make ends meet and get through this crisis.
Ilhan is fighting to pass her RELIEF Act to make sure Americans get immediate cash relief and a steady stream of income every month until after this crisis is over. Unlike too many politicians, Ilhan doesn't get her policy ideas from corporate donors trying to push an agenda -- she centers working people in every piece of legislation she introduces.

Recently, Ilhan asked grassroots supporters like you how universal monthly payments would make a difference in their lives. Here's what a few of you had to say:
"I am an essential worker, which means I am at constant risk of contracting COVID-19. On top of this, I am a single mom. If I get sick, that means no income for my family. A universal payment could be a safety net."
"I wouldn't have to worry about the near future. My mom wouldn't have to count on me to be able to pay her bills. Food has become our main concern right now. Everything seems so uncertain."
"It would allow my family to be sure we could maintain reliable internet and connection to our extended families and doctors. We have gotten creative with how to cut the budget and this would help make sure I can stay connected."
This crisis has created new economic disparities and exacerbated existing ones. Ilhan is working hard in Congress to not only deliver Americans emergency coronavirus relief but to build an America that fulfills the promise of liberty and justice for all.
