As Debate Nears, Trump’s Gag Order in New York Partially Lifted
Katie Pavlich: The gag order imposed on former President Donald Trump by New York Judge Juan Merchan in the case brought against him by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has been partially lifted. The change comes three weeks after a stacked New York City jury found Trump guilty on 34 felony bookkeeping violations, which attorneys plan to appeal at sentencing on July 11. Trump can now speak about witnesses and jurors, but not prosecutors, court staff or their families until sentencing. Despite the trial being long over, the gag order has stayed in place. Meanwhile, on Tuesday Special Counsel Jack Smith requested a federal judge in Florida issue a gag order on Trump as he pursues the case pertaining to classified documents being handled and stored at Mar-a-Lago ( Townhall).

House Committees Discover Two People Who Corroborated Letter Denouncing Hunter Biden’s Laptop as “Russian Disinformation” Were Active CIA Contractors
Washington Examiner: Former intelligence officials who wrote a controversial public letter casting doubt on Hunter Biden’s laptop data ahead of the 2020 presidential election included active contractors working for the CIA, a report published Tuesday reveals. The report, released by two Republican-led House committees, provides the most direct link yet between the government’s premier intelligence agency and the infamous statement. It also shows several internal emails about the letter, which include two CIA employees expressing reluctance about the political nature of the statement ( Washington Examiner). Just the News : The 51 former officials published the signed letter warning that the release of emails from the Hunter Biden laptop bore the hallmarks of a Russian influence operation less than a month before the election. Biden then used the letter to defend himself in the final debate with President Donald Trump. In addition to the participation of active CIA contractors, the report concludes then-CIA Director Gina Haspel and other high-ranking CIA officials “were made aware of the Hunter Biden statement prior to its approval and publication” ( Just the News).

Toronto Special Election Raises Question: Is Our Northern Neighbor’s Love Affair With Leftism Over?
Associated Press: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal party has suffered a major upset in a special election for a Toronto district it has held for three decades, raising doubts about Trudeau’s leadership ahead of next year’s general election. Elections Canada reported Tuesday that opposition Conservative candidate Don Stewart won the Toronto-St. Paul’s district by almost 600 votes, 42.1% over the Liberal candidate’s 40.5% with all 192 polling stations reporting results of Monday’s voting. The Liberals had held Toronto-St. Paul’s since 1993. It is one of 338 seats in Canada’s House of Commons ( Associated Press). Politico: The staggering loss that comes amid Canada’s affordability crisis and swelling desire for political change will only amp up the pressure on Trudeau to resign for the good of his party. Trudeau still has the next year to attempt a Hail Mary pass — though nothing he has tried so far has worked ( Politico).

Russia Blames U.S. for Ukraine Strike in Crimea, Vows Retaliation
Townhall: Russia vowed to retaliate against the United States over a Ukrainian strike on Sunday that killed at least four people, including two children, and injured 151 others. A Global Hawk US reconnaissance drone was on duty off Crimea.” Russia’s Foreign Ministry summoned U.S. Ambassador Lynne Tracy after the incident and claimed Washington was “waging a hybrid war against Russia and has actually become a party to the conflict.” The Kremlin vowed that “retaliatory measures will definitely follow” ( Townhall). CNN Commentator Van Jones Denounces Attack on Jewish Synagogue by Radical Protestors
Breitbart: On Monday’s broadcast of “CNN News Central,” CNN Senior Political Commentator Van Jones stated that the group targeting a Los Angeles synagogue over the weekend clearly wanted to provoke violence and stated that “I’m concerned about the people in my community in Los Angeles moving in a direction that is more and more dangerous, more and more scary, more and more destructive.” And that such behavior is “making America a much less safe place for everybody.” Jones said that everyone knows where the Jewish neighborhoods in Los Angeles are and so the people there on Sunday knew they were in a Jewish neighborhood and showing up in one “wearing a keffiyeh, you show up there with your face covered, you show up there chanting, river to the sea. That would be just like a white person running up with a Confederate flag in Harlem” in that someone who does that is “trying to start a fight” ( Breitbart). News Contributor Hen Mazzig: “I haven’t seen any Jewish people in America running up on mosques with Israeli flags. Protest a policy, not a people. What we saw outside of the synagogue in LA is a pogrom” ( X).

Track Coaches Speak Up After Watching Trans Athlete Crush Competition at State Championship
Daily Wire: Two high school track coaches in Washington are speaking out after watching a trans-identifying male athlete crush his female competition at the state championship. Brad Anderson is the boys’ track head coach, and Jason Keniston is the girls’ track head coach at Liberty High School near Seattle. In May, the two coaches watched Veronica Garcia, a biological male formerly known as Donovan Brown, win first place at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) state track meet. Garcia won the girls’ 400-meter race with a record-smashing time of 55.59 ( Daily Wire). Independent Women’s Forum: In October 2022, Veronica Garcia competed in the boy’s 5,000-meter JV race, placing 164th out of 172. Less than two years later, Garcia competed in the girls’ 400-meter race. He “just completely blew the competition away,” winning by at least 30 to 40 meters, remarked Coach Keniston, adding: “How can anyone think this is fair, regardless of the politics of our world and our country” ( Independent Women’s Forum).

Kenyan Police Officers Arrive in Haiti to Help Quell Gang Violence
New York Times: Foreign law enforcement officers began arriving in Haiti on Tuesday, more than year and a half after the prime minister there issued a plea to other countries for help to stop the rampant gang violence that has upended the Caribbean nation. Footage shared on social media showed dozens of armed men in military fatigues filing out of a Kenya Airways plane at Haiti’s Toussaint Louverture International Airport in the capital, Port-au-Prince. The officers are part of a deployment of police officers from eight nations who will fan out across the capital in an effort to wrest control of the city from dozens of armed groups that have attacked police stations, freed prisoners and killed with impunity. Since the appeal for international help went out in October 2022, more than 7,500 people have been killed by violence — more than 2,500 people so far this year alone, the United Nations said ( New York Times). HotAir: In order to fly the US military planes in, the government had to clear houses near the airport which had been used by gangs to shoot at planes. But the most prominent of the gang leaders, who goes by the name Barbecue, has made it clear that he considers the Kenyans an invading force. And because the Kenyan mission is largely funded by the US, he sees this as a US-led invasion ( HotAir).

$10 Million Bail Set for Both Illegal Immigrants Accused of Raping, Murdering 12-Year-Old
Fox News: The second of the two illegal immigrant suspects accused of killing 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray and then dumping her body in a bayou in Houston last week had his bail set Tuesday for $10 million during an emotional court hearing in which he was called a “murderer” by a woman in the gallery. Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel, 22, appeared in Harris County Criminal Court just hours after District Attorney Kim Ogg told Fox News that “the evidence is clear that a sexual assault likely happened” in the capital murder case. Co-defendant Franklin Jose Peña Ramos, 26, had his bail set at $10 million on Monday. “At his arrest, he had a bite mark on his arm and scratch marks on his arms,” Harris County Assistant District Attorney Megan Long revealed on Tuesday following the hearing. “He did say that he did tie her up, and that he suggested that they throw her into the bayou to get rid of any DNA.” “We have gotten into Martinez-Rangel’s phone and found evidence that he was searching for ways to leave the country once his image was released to the media,” Long also said ( Fox News).
