Today Governor Holcomb announced that planning is underway for a safe — and phased-in —reopening of Indiana’s economy. This planning includes a short extension of the Hunker Down Hoosiers executive order. The stay-at-home order is extended to May 1. 

Governor Holcomb is working day and night with health officials, studying the data, and letting facts on the ground determine appropriate next steps. And he’s asked industry leaders and associations for recommendations on changes we can make that will allow us to return to work safely.

We can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and preparations are starting to be made to reopen our state. 

The health and safety of Hoosiers is Governor Holcomb’s highest priority and will guide his decisions as he continues to lead Indiana during this global pandemic. 

This is still a critical time. Staying hunkered down is working. The curve is flattening. We can see the positive results of your actions.

What you’ve done these last several weeks has undoubtedly slowed the spread, flattened the curve, and saved lives.
