Join us at WSDC in wishing everyone a safe and joyful Pride Month!
This month, we not only celebrate the strides we’ve made over the years in creating a just and inclusive society, but we look back on the work we’ve done and set the stage for the work we have yet to do.
The WA State Senate LGBTQ Caucus, including Sens. Jamie Pedersen, Marko Liias, Emily Randall, and Claire Wilson, along with the rest of our Democratic caucus, are committed to continuing our work in creating a more equal community for everyone, regardless of who you are and who you love.
In the last few years, Democrats have passed the Gender Affirming Care Act, established the LGBTQ commission, banned conversion therapy, and passed legislation to establish inclusive curriculum throughout the public school system.
Our work isn’t done. LGBTQ+ rights are being attacked across the country, with bills targeting transgender and queer youth in multiple states. We have work left to do in protecting the rights of LGBTQ+ people in Washington and ensuring that hate has no home here.
