Hi, it's Wes Moore – the Governor of Maryland. I want to tell you about my good friend, Lisa Blunt Rochester.

Lisa got her start in politics as a young mother interning for then-Congressman Tom Carper. After serving in his gubernatorial administration, Lisa decided to run for Congress and she became the first woman and African American to represent Delaware in Washington.

Lisa will be the kind of Senator who never tires of advocating for families across Delaware. And because of her tenacity, I know she can break one of the highest glass ceilings in politics and become our nation's fourth Black woman Senator.

But Lisa is up against some powerful forces this year. Everyone from Breitbart to Ben Shapiro is attacking her campaign. Even worse, Lisa's self-funding opponent wrote his campaign a check for nearly a million dollars.

Lisa's going to need the support of you and I to overcome this avalanche of attacks and outside spending.
