Hi Friend,
I was just 6 years old when Hurricane Sandy destroyed my home and sent me and my mom onto New York City streets late at night to seek safe shelter.
I’m 14 now. I can remember parts of that night Sandy disrupted my life: my mom waking me, hearing my bedroom ceiling crack, and seeing water and debris pour down onto my bed where I had lay moments before, as the roof was caving in on my bed.
Along with my mom, I became an activist to fight climate change. In September, I spoke for NYCC at the huge climate strike in Manhattan where tens of thousands of us rallied.
I recently learned that big banks like JP Morgan Chase and a massive Wall Street firm called BlackRock are the world’s biggest funders of the fossil fuel companies. JP Morgan Chase and BlackRock are destroying the planet and my future. It’s just plain wrong. Very wrong. Let’s do something about it.
