The stakes are incredibly high. Republican U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson from Louisiana is leading the "Grow the Majority" effort, focusing on eastern North Carolina. He is determined to win North Carolina's First Congressional District, and we must stop him.
Congressman Don Davis, a true son of eastern North Carolina, was raised by his grandmother and is a fifth-generation native of the region. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy and is a military veteran. Congressman Don Davis returned to eastern North Carolina, where he was elected mayor of his hometown and served the people of eastern North Carolina in the State Senate. His deep-rooted dedication to our country and state drives his work. We must support a strong advocate for eastern North Carolina, such as Don Davis. The issues affecting the East and our nation are more substantial than a power grab.
