Hi there,
I'm thrilled to be with GGWash this summer as an Engagement Intern! This month, we had a great time celebrating Pride and marching with friends in the parade. We have a lot of exciting stuff coming up over the next month, including GGWash's ANC candidate trainings and the Planners of Color happy hour. And have you seen our new career board?

GGWash 2024 Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner candidate training (virtual) Monday, July 1, 6:00pm-8:00pm Virtual
In November 2024, voters in Washington, DC, will choose their most immediate elected officials: Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners. ANC seats are unpaid, part-time, nonpartisan, advisory roles, and are the official voice of their neighborhoods. Join GGWash for a virtual-only training on how to run for ANC, and for a discussion on how to serve if you’re elected. |
Planners of Color July happy hour Wednesday, July 17, 6:00pm-8:00pm
Shanklin Hall; 2325 18th St NW, Washington, DC 20009 Greater Greater Washington is making space for planners, advocates, and other community leaders of color to meet and connect. We'll be hosting a "planners of color" meet-up on July 17 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Shanklin Hall (NOT Franklin Hall), a black-owned gathering space on 18th St. |

We periodically ask you to confirm your address so that we can reach out to you about specific housing developments, transportation projects, volunteer opportunities, electoral work, or any other number of other things that are relevant because you live close to where they're happening. Dillon and Dorian are recipients of the Roosevelt in Washington fellowship, a program of the Roosevelt Institute that immerses undergraduates in public policy work in DC. This summer, they'll be supporting our editorial, policy, and engagement programming. |
