We are facing a global pandemic. Across the country, people are in need of COVID-19 tests. Health care providers are desperate for protective equipment.

What is our president doing about it? Tweeting. Attacking the recent passage of common-sense gun reform in Virginia, like universal background checks.

Instead of doing his job and listening to health professionals, President Trump is sending inflammatory tweets.

In 2019, Virginians elected Democratic majorities to both chambers of the General Assembly. Since then, our leaders in the General Assembly passed the Equal Rights Amendment, increased ballot access through vote-by-mail and early voting initiatives, and passed universal background checks to keep all Virginians safe.

We need our leaders to be doing more than tweeting — we need them to be making real changes that keep us safer. That’s why it’s so important that we re-elect Mark Warner, take back the U.S. Senate, and build a campaign that helps Virginia win in races from the White House on down to local offices.
