John, thank you for your compassion and for helping refugees and displaced families survive, recover and rebuild their lives. Your support could not be more vital as humanitarian catastrophe unfolds in Gaza.
25 June 2024: I wanted to send a brief email update, along with some photos, to illustrate the impact of our work together →
With the health care system in Gaza nearing collapse, IRC Emergency Medical Teams—composed of trauma doctors, surgeons, pediatricians and water and sanitation experts, in partnership with Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP)—have been offering surge and relief support to hospitals and providing life-saving medical care to injured Palestinians.

The scale of the crisis is unthinkable, especially for the IRC's medical partners on the ground.
"I think it's very important that we continue our presence, our assistance, our support... [Palestinian doctors] are at their tether's end, and it's very visible. And our role here is to be supportive and hopefully comforting and provide that shoulder for them to lean on as they need it." —Dr. Khaled Dawas, from the IRC's and MAP's joint emergency medical team
Thanks to the dedication from compassionate people like you, our work in places like Gaza continues, where people like Dr. Dawas provide a lifeline for those suffering.
The IRC also partnered with Taawon, the Welfare Association, to combat the severe hunger affecting displaced families in Rafah. Through this partnership, we provided almost 3,450 displaced families in Rafah earlier this year with fresh food parcels that contain available fresh vegetables and locally produced food items sourced from within Gaza. Here's a food distribution photo:

Food is distributed to displaced Palestinian families around Rafah in Gaza.
We also have a partnership with the Agriculture Development Association (PARC), and are working around the clock to help families facing malnutrition in Gaza. Through our partnership, we are distributing 1,700 baskets of fresh vegetables sourced from local farmers, helping displaced populations gain access to sustainable and healthy food options.
John, your dedication ensures our work in places like Gaza continues. Your compassion is a force of hope.
Thank you,

P.S. Thank you for reading this impact email. Despite the work we’ve done, the picture in Gaza right now is terrifyingly bleak. Families have been torn apart and their homes are in ruins. Children have been injured, orphaned and traumatized. People are reportedly dying of starvation.
The International Rescue Committee is working with partners to deliver lifesaving medical aid and other critical support to people enduring catastrophic suffering.
If you can rush an emergency gift today, your donation can help families facing conflict in Gaza and around the world. Thank you.
