Candidate Highlight - Councilwoman Kate Hay

Over the summer, we plan on highlighting Young Dems running throughout the county, and we're kicking things off by introducing you to Chatham Borough Councilwoman Kate Hay.

Kate has lived in Chatham Borough her entire life and became one of the youngest persons to serve on the Borough Council when she was appointed to fill the seat vacated by Mayor Carolyn Dempsey in January.

She attended college at George Washington University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in theater, minoring in history and political science.

Kate is the Director of Digital Media at Twin Vision Radio Promotions, a company tasked with promoting up-and-coming independent artists on the radio.  She also owns and serves as the lead formulator at Kate Made, a skincare line, which she launched last year after more than five years of planning and preparation.

Additionally, Kate is a swim coach at the Madison Area YMCA Competitive Aquatics Department, is the Assistant Swimming Coach at Oratory Preparatory School in Summit, and writes and performs acting roles as a member of the SAG-AFTRA Union.

We're so excited to have someone with Kate's background and unique perspectives serving in elected office and are going to do everything we can to make sure she and her running mate Jocelyn Mathiasen are re-elected this November.

And you can help too!

Kate and Jocelyn are having their campaign kickoff on Tuesday, July 2nd and while the event is free, they DO have Republican opposition and need all the help they can get.

So, click HERE to RSVP, donate, or both, and let's make sure this is just the beginning of Kate's service to the people of Chatham and Morris County.

Also, make sure to give Team Chatham 2024 a follow on Facebook and Instagram so you can stay up-to-date date on their campaign.

2024 MCYD Re-Organization Meeting

As previously announced, our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 11th at 6 PM (via Zoom).  This meeting will serve as our re-organization meeting, where all Executive Board positions will be up for re-election.

President T.C. McCourt has announced his intention to seek a second and final term as President and will be joined on a slate by Carrie O'Brien (Vice President), Jonathan Bellinghausen (Treasurer), and Deborah Tejada (Secretary).

As a final reminder, any other slates wishing to run must notify the Executive Board of their intention via email by Thursday, June 27th at 11:59 PM.

We will send the registration link for the meeting closer to the date.
