John, we have good news and bad news.

The good news is that the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled to protect Social Security — a program that has helped hundreds of millions of Americans pay their bills and retire with dignity.

But here’s the bad news: While Social Security might be safe for now, we’re not off the hook yet. Extremist Republicans across the country are trying to END critical government programs like Social Security and Medicare.

Social Security is, without a doubt, one of the most important pieces of legislation ever passed — almost 68 million people receive benefits right now.

We can’t let far-right extremists strip away our benefits, John — we have to make our voices heard now. That’s why we need 50,000 Democrats to add their names to this petition and let the GOP know: We won’t let them destroy the vital programs that millions of Americans count on. 

So please, John, will you add your name before our 11:59 p.m. deadline tonight to protect Social Security from right-wing extremists?
