James — Citizens United has completely broken our political system. We have a campaign finance system that allows right-wing groups, like AIPAC, and super PACs run by the political establishment to take over primaries with millions and millions of dollars of attack ads.
AIPAC has now spent a record $14.5 million against pro-Peace progressive Jamaal Bowman ahead of tomorrow’s primary. It’s important to ask, like Bernie does, do we live in a democracy or an oligarchy?
Stand with Bernie: Fix America’s broken campaign finance system! Elections should be decided by the people, not right-wing billionaires and corporate super PACs.
Jamaal Bowman’s race has become the center of the political universe for some important reasons.
- Hillary Clinton sided with AIPAC and endorsed against Bowman.
- AIPAC has pledged to spend $100 million in right-wing money against pro-Peace progressives for simply speaking out for a Ceasefire and the human rights of Palestinians.
- AIPAC set a record for spending in a single House race, throwing more than $14.5 million behind its smear campaign against Jamaal.
- Then, a crypto super PAC piled on another $2 million against Bowman.
- Bernie and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came out to rally for Jamaal in NY-16 this weekend to fight for the people against unlimited spending.
While the right-wing pro-Israel lobby, super PACs, and corporate Democrats try to take this seat away from working people, Bernie, AOC, Jamaal, and Our Revolution are fighting back.
And a big part of that fight is making sure we fundamentally change the rules behind unlimited campaign spending in America.
Add your name: AIPAC, right-wing billionaires, and crypto super PACs shouldn’t be able to drop over $16 million in a House primary. Get rid of Citizens United and give power back to the people!
When we organize, we win.
