Two years ago today, the right-wing Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, discarding nearly 50 years of legal precedent and ending the constitutional right to abortion.

The fallout from this decision has been nothing short of devastating. Many women are now being forced to travel across state lines to receive essential health care procedures. Some are even forced to carry pregnancies to term against their will. And doctors are being placed in impossible situations, forced to deny life-saving treatment to their patients out of fear of criminal prosecution.

Despite this, Congressman Mike Lawler has made it clear where he stands. He supported the overturning of Roe and even supports allowing states to ban abortion. As one of his very first acts in Congress, he voted for anti-choice legislation. Lawler and his Republican colleagues are poised to enact a national abortion ban if given the opportunity.

I refuse to sit idly by while politicians like Lawler strip away basic freedoms like control over one's own body. That's why when I return to Congress, I will fight to protect reproductive rights across the country. Now more than ever, we need representatives who will stand up for our freedoms, not strip them away.
