Friend --

Joe Biden is officially the Democratic presumptive nominee and we haven’t forgotten his promise to select a woman as his running mate.

It’s time for a Black woman Vice President!

Higher Heights is lifting this conversation through our, "#BlackWomenLead VP For 2020", campaign which is a short-list of potential candidates for our next Vice President. We understand that the road to the White House is powered by Black women, and that we cannot continue to deliver victories for the Democratic Party, but be overlooked on the issues that matter to us most.

The list of Black women who could strengthen the Democratic ticket is impressive. These women are already leading in their respective roles, and have the experience, qualifications and trusted leadership that could lead Democrats to victory as a vice-presidential running mate this year -- from Sen. Harris, to Stacey Abrams, Congresswomen Val Demings and Marcia Fudge, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottom, Ambassador Susan Rice, or Nina Turner, the presumptive Democratic nominee has an opportunity to choose a Black woman running mate that will fight for the issues that matter most to our communities.
