John, Two years ago today, the Supreme Court announced its landmark decision in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization effectively overturning the precedent set by Roe v. Wade. In the time since that decision, many states proceeded to outright ban abortions, and continue to go even further to erode reproductive freedoms. We know the extremists will not stop there — they are coming for access to birth control, and other established rights. Our responsibility to fiercely protect and defend the right to an abortion is as urgent as ever. The Moore-Miller administration will always support women’s reproductive freedoms and the right to choose. Wes has shown that he is willing to fight tooth and nail to protect reproductive rights because he knows the choice belongs to individuals, not extreme politicians. Wes has already signed legislation protecting abortion access, but now he’s going further and supporting the ballot initiative to codify reproductive rights into Maryland’s state constitution this year.
