Today we celebrate the two-year anniversary of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

John,

Today we celebrate the two-year anniversary of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

This milestone is worthy of celebration because it reversed a grievous injustice. The Roe decision in 1973 (made by a Supreme Court of all men) declared abortion as a national right. The overturn of Roe corrected this horrific decision by eliminating the so-called right to kill a preborn child, though that right was always a lie.

This reversal is a feat for which countless pro-life warriors worked hard for five decades. Many believed it would not happen in their lifetime.

But our fight for life is just getting started. Justice demands that we protect the fundamental human right to life for all people, especially the tiniest among us who cannot defend themselves.

We rejoice in this two-year anniversary as an important victory and stepping stone towards our ultimate goal: ending abortion by ensuring every human being is recognized and protected as a person. Through the 14th Amendment, our Constitution already guarantees every person equal protection under the law, including our youngest children, and including protection from the killing we call abortion.

This is our new north star – a complete end to abortion by ensuring the equal protection of the laws from the moment of fertilization.

We must acknowledge that the ending of Roe tragically agitated abortion activists and access to the abortion pill has become easier than ever. Since Roe was overturned, we have seen tremendous progress, including 14 states that have protected most children from the lethal violence of abortion; it is estimated these protections have saved tens of thousands of precious lives. But still, the latest reports tell us around 2,800 abortions happen every day in America. That’s the equivalent of 38 school buses of children. Killed. Every day.

We must mourn for the 63 million precious children who have already been lost to abortion since 1973.

But there is hope. We can still spread the truth that sets people free from abortion and save children who are in danger of being killed right now.

I spoke on Fox and Friends about what the overturn of Roe means and what we can do to end abortion going forward. You can watch the video here:

As we remember the significance of what happened on this day two years ago, let us allow that momentum to light a new fire within us. Hope and truth prevail, and they do so primarily through our examples of perseverance going forward.

2,800 preborn babies need us every day. Let’s press on with renewed vigor to save them by giving the world messages of fearless truth and loving acts of service.
