Two years later, I am still outraged by the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Two years ago today, the Supreme Court reversed Roe v. Wade with their decision in Dobbs v. Jackson and declared that abortion was no longer a constitutional right.

In several states, this decision made a safe and essential health care procedure a criminal act overnight.

Abortion continues to be legal and protected in Washington because safe, accessible, and legal abortions save lives - not even the decision of the Supreme Court in Dobbs. v. Jackson altered this.

The Supreme Court's backward ruling in Dobbs undermines our basic constitutional rights of liberty, privacy, and equality, which is why the American people overwhelmingly oppose the decision.

As a member of Congress with a 100% voting record on choice, and endorsed many times by Planned Parenthood, I will fight hard to codify abortion rights nationwide in federal law. Last fall, I joined a majority in the House to pass the Women's Health Protection Act, which would codify Roe v. Wade — but extremist anti-choice Republicans blocked the bill.

When Democrats take back Congress, we will make Roe the law of the land. Can you make a contribution of $3 to my re-election campaign so I can continue this work in Congress?
