John,
This is some BS: the state of Missouri has a total abortion ban—without exceptions for rape and incest.
For two years since the Dobbs decision, Missourians have been living under a total abortion ban. You see, politicians there had passed trigger laws, designed to ban abortion if the Supreme Court ever overturned Roe.
Like you probably do, I still remember where I was when the news broke that Roe would be overturned. I was making pasta for a sick kid after a long day. I thought to myself, how can any politician think they are equipped to make the deeply personal decision to become a parent for someone else?
While I’m proud that Californians have voted to protect access to abortion, we can’t accept abortion only being allowed in some states as “good enough.”
That’s why I’m asking you to support Missourians for Constitutional Freedom. Because of their work to get this amendment on the ballot, Missourians will have the chance to end the state’s cruel abortion ban. Anti-abortion groups will throw everything they can at this, and your support is critical.
Just like in Kansas, Kentucky, and Ohio—I know that when voters have the chance to make their voices heard, they’ll stand up to career politicians who have taken away their freedom.
Thanks for supporting this fight,
Katie
