Today is the second anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision that repealed Roe v. Wade and overturned the long-established precedent that protected a woman’s right to an abortion. Because of that ruling, millions of Americans have lost access to healthcare and their reproductive freedoms—with devastating consequences for women all across the country.
In the two years since that decision, extremist Republicans have enacted draconian abortion bans, attempted to restrict access to contraceptives and fertility treatments, and advocated for a national abortion ban. And they’re not done.
Let me be clear: personal medical decisions should be kept between patients and doctors. There’s no room in doctor’s offices for politicians and judges.
Making choices regarding your own body is a fundamental and constitutional right. It’s well past time that we put an end to all attacks against it.
