John, it was two years ago today that a narrow 5-4 conservative Supreme Court majority reversed Roe v. Wade, which had previously protected the constitutional right to an abortion for nearly 50 years.
I am fighting to defend the Senate so that we can codify Roe v. Wade and protect abortion rights nationwide. Many pundits think Republicans will take Senate control, and we cannot lose a single seat — can you chip in $5 to help me immediately respond?
We all knew then that the Court’s decision would unleash government intrusion upon women’s personal liberty and freedom to make their own medical decisions.
It has — and what’s followed has been a string of tragedies and hurdles that Roe had rendered previously unthinkable in this country.
Republican attacks have come not only on the right to abortion care, but targeting doctors and even the drivers taking women to clinics with criminal punishment. Fighting to ban mifepristone and misoprostol. Fighting to take away in vitro fertilization. Fighting to take away contraception.
Donald Trump has vowed that there should be “punishment” for women who seek abortion care. It’s clear that this isn’t going to stop unless we make it stop.
John, I still have hope — because less than a week after the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs, President Biden’s nominee Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was sworn in to the Supreme Court, and reminded us about the kind of nation we still can be.
We can restore balance to the Supreme Court and federal judiciary, but not without the Senate majority — that is what we are fighting to save in November.
Will you make a $5 donation on this 2nd anniversary of Dobbs to say that we will not go back, and that we will never stop fighting for freedom and liberty for all? My FEC deadline is less than a week away.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
This week leading into the FEC deadline on June 30 is the most important yet in this election.
You have a critical role to play in this fight, John. Thanks for pitching in if you are able.
With love and gratitude,
Cory
