When Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) wrote the plan that Mitch McConnell[1] said would “sunset Social Security and Medicare” within 5 years, he had a lot of right-wing support. One of those supporters is the GOP nominee for U.S. Senate in Nevada: Sam Brown.
Senate candidate Sam Brown has called for eliminating entire federal government agencies, and while he’s publicly dodged questions about how he’d handle Social Security’s long-term funding shortfall,he was caught on tape saying Rick Scott’s plan, “is something that I admire as well.”
Sam Brown has been endorsed by Donald Trump who, before running for president, slandered Social Security by calling it a “Ponzi scheme.” Trump has also called Brown a “FEARLESS AMERICAN PATRIOT”,[2] which is the same praise Trump lavishes on MAGA January 6 insurrectionists.
But Nevadans don’t need to settle for a MAGA Republican who “admires” plans to sunset Social Security and Medicare.
