John, it's Hank Johnson.
Two years ago, the Supreme Court's decision in the Dobbs vs. Jackson case was released. For the first time in our nation's history, the Supreme Court snatched away a fundamental civil right.
For nearly 50 years, Roe v. Wade and the Casey decisions served as a hallmark of gender equality in our nation. With an increasingly (and openly) right-wing Court, many are wondering: What are they going to take away next?
I'm here to tell you that if the trend continues, the results WON'T be in our favor—and later this week, we're going to find out just how far they're willing to go.
John, the Supreme Court will be releasing several major decisions that have the potential to redefine the power of the President, completely ban access to abortion care in states across the country, criminalize homelessness, limit free speech, ban removal of misinformation on social media platforms, and so much more, and we can only hope that they'll put people over politics this time around.
But no matter the results, I'm going to continue fighting in Congress to reform our Supreme Court, hold those justices accountable, and make sure the people of our country are put first. (And unlike some of our Supreme Court justices, I'm committed to serving the people and staying transparent while I do it).
My June End of Quarter Fundraising Reporting Deadline is coming quickly, and whatever we raise will be public. My MAGA opponents will be looking at these numbers to determine the strength of my campaign, and I want to show them how strong our people-first, grassroots movement is. Can you chip in today to show your support and help me reach my goal?
