Hi John,

Two years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court—stacked with Trump-appointed MAGA justices—released its Dobbs ruling and effectively gutted Roe v. Wade and the national abortion protections it provided. Since then, Republican attacks on reproductive rights have continued to ramp up, both at the state and federal levels.

In state after state, the GOP and anti-choice groups have redoubled efforts to erode reproductive rights, including access to abortion care, distribution of medications like Mifepristone, fertility treatments like IVF, and even contraception. As a stark reminder of how radical Republicans are on this issue, in Texas, the state GOP appears to be entertaining the idea of the death penalty for abortion care patients.

While this moment is urgent, it is not hopeless. The fight for reproductive freedom is a deeply popular, winning issue nationwide: 8 in 10 Americans support the legal right to abortion. And in every state that abortion access has appeared directly on the ballot since the reversal of Roe, it has won. The public support is there, but to protect reproductive freedom for all, we must get out the vote in November.

That’s why we launched the [Swing Left’s 2024 Abortion is on the Ballot Fund]([link removed]) to help fund the highest-impact campaigns and ballot initiatives to increase turnout, supporting Democratic wins up and down the ballot. Because while we can’t restore abortion rights overnight, our ability to achieve reproductive freedom long term hinges on winning a federal trifecta and key state-level gains this November.
