Today marks the two-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
The overturning of this landmark decision that protected abortion access as a constitutional right for decades had a devastating impact on millions of women across America. I trust women to make their own healthcare decisions – not politicians.
As Baltimore County Executive, I fought to protect and expand access to critical reproductive healthcare. I testified in support of a Maryland constitutional amendment that would enshrine a woman’s right to reproductive freedom and ensured that Baltimore County officials would not cooperate with efforts to prosecute people seeking abortion care.
Abortion is on the ballot in November, and I will take my fight to protect access to reproductive care to Congress. But I can’t do this alone.
