Hi John, it’s Sen. Pam Jochum with the IA Senate Dems. Before I ask you to chip in to help pro-freedom down ballot candidates in Iowa, I wanted to acknowledge the significance of today’s date. 

It’s the 2 year anniversary of the Dobbs decision.

In 2024, the SCOTUS made a landmark decision in the Dobbs case that overruled both Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. 

While extremists rejoiced, most of the country mourned what this meant for their rights. 

Since then, Republican controlled state governments all over the country have been pushing their agenda to restrict reproductive rights. 

Sadly, our state has not been spared from their backwards agenda. 

In April, far-right lawmakers signed into law an archaic 6 week fetal heartbeat abortion ban.

Many women don’t even know they are pregnant at 6 weeks, John.

While the court blocked this restrictive law from being signed into effect, Iowa’s Supreme Court is expected to release a decision on it on Friday – right on the heel of the Dobbs anniversary.

John, we need to stop this madness.

The Dobbs v. Jackson verdict was a huge leap in the wrong direction, but it’s not too late to right their wrong.
