It's finally happening, Friend!
After 1,103 handwritten letters, 537 emails, and 100 voicemail
messages -- The Community Solar bill, HB 197 is being brought to a
vote on Wednesday.
The legislators still need to hear from their constituents
that there is wide support for this pilot program and that they need
to vote YES.
Please call the Capital switchboard to leave a
message with your representative today
Please call 1-800-282-0253 and tell your legislator that it
is time for the House Public Utilities Committee to make Ohio
Community Solar a reality. We are
ready for cleaner energy, lower electric bills, and local power. Tell
them to please pass House Bill 197!
The committee vote will be broadcast live. Please
tune in to the House Public Utilities Committee on the ohiochannel Wednesday, June 26 at 9:30
a.m.
Community solar projects are smaller-scale facilities often
paired with battery storage and intended to be located relatively
close to the communities they serve. Renters, low-income residents and
others who can’t afford or access home rooftop solar panels can
“subscribe” to the clean energy produced by these facilities and
receive bill credits for the environmental value and energy provided
to the grid.
Community solar is a win-win: more clean energy
available to a wider range of people. These projects can
reduce the need for expensive long-distance transmission
infrastructure.
Let's make sure this bill
passes with flying colors!
Thank you,
P.S. We're hiring
canvassers! Do you know anyone who wants to make a
difference while making a living? Please tell them
to apply.
