Two years ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court released its decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. For the first time in its history, the Court issued a ruling that left Americans with fewer fundamental rights than they had the day before.

What we know now is two-fold, and why I'm writing to you again today:

FIRST: Choice is on the ballot this year, in more ways than one, and

SECOND: Democratic pro-choice women like those endorsed by EMILYs List are our absolute best shot at restoring our rights and defending our freedom.

EMILYs List was by my side when I first ran for Senate in 2000, and again in 2008 and 2016 as I ran for president. You are a tenacious, passionate community, and what you have done (and continue to do) for women in politics over the last 39 years cannot be overstated.

And this year, we are being tested. Our foundation as a country is being attacked by a radicalized Republican Party intent on destroying our democracy, our privacy, and our bodily autonomy.

I keep coming back to Justice Samuel Alito's words in the Court's egregious Dobbs decision. He wrote, "Women are not without electoral or political power."

As if we needed reminding.
