This week marks two years since the Supreme Court overturned the half-century precedent set by Roe v. Wade. Their decision to strip away bodily autonomy shocked and outraged many Americans, including myself.

Since then, Republicans nationwide have relentlessly attacked reproductive rights, passing bills that target abortion providers, criminalize women seeking abortions, and make reproductive healthcare even less accessible.

I was proud to cast the first pro-choice vote in West Michigan history. For the first time, our district is represented by someone who will always fight for your right to make your own healthcare decisions.

Two years since the overturn of Roe v. Wade, my commitment to advocate for the equal rights of all people in West Michigan and to continue fighting for reproductive freedom remains steadfast. But to pass the much needed legislation codifying Roe v. Wade, taking back the House majority is crucial.
