Two years ago, our conservative-stacked Supreme Court made the reckless decision of overturning Roe vs. Wade.

In Arizona and across our country, we’ve seen the real-world consequences of this decision.

If anti-choice Republicans had their way, Arizonans would be living under an 1864 abortion ban, criminalizing patients, along with their doctors, for providing abortion care.

We cannot and will not accept this as our new normal.

In 2019, I saw the true consequences of a full abortion ban during a visit to El Salvador as part of a delegation of state legislators. We met with women who had been incarcerated and women who had been prosecuted after experiencing obstetric emergencies, including miscarriages and stillbirths.

When I came back to Arizona, I immediately sounded the alarm and started advocating for our state’s total abortion ban to be overturned.

Now, the reality is that our fundamental rights and freedoms are being chipped away by MAGA extremists, and it’s our responsibility to fight back.

From my work with Planned Parenthood to my time as an organizer and a state legislator, I unapologetically believe that people and families deserve to make decisions over their own bodies, lives, and futures.
