Two years ago today, the Supreme Court overturned Roe and Ohio became ground zero for the fight for abortion rights.

I’m going to tell you more about our ongoing efforts to protect abortion, but first, I’m asking if you can donate today to support Ohio Democrats who will defend our right to choose.

After Roe was overturned, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost took legal action in MERE MINUTES to activate Ohio’s 6-week abortion ban. We heard devastating stories of Ohioans having to flee the state to receive critical healthcare.

So, we fought back.

After Ohio Republicans called a special election to change the rules and rip away the right to citizen-led ballot initiatives, Ohioans turned out in historic numbers to reject their attempts to destroy our democracy. But they didn’t stop there. Frank LaRose recruited his GOP cronies to completely rewrite the Issue 1 ballot language to mislead voters. Duplicitous.

I wish I could say we won the battle since we overwhelmingly voted to pass Issue 1 and safeguard abortion, but unfortunately, the fight to protect our rights persists. Bernie Moreno is on the ballot in November, and he has said time and time again that he is 100% pro-life with no exceptions.

Make no mistake: Ohio’s fight for reproductive rights isn’t over until we reject anti-choice extremism in Congress this November.
