Hi there, it’s Monica, Raul’s wife. I think I speak for both my husband and myself in saying that as health care professionals, this day two years ago was devastating. On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade — threatening access to reproductive health care and abortion across the country.

In the two years following the Court’s ruling, MAGA Republicans have perpetrated further assaults on women’s rights in red, blue, and swing states alike. Throughout my career as an emergency room nurse, I’ve never been more afraid for the future of reproductive health care in our country than I am now — especially now that I’m a mother to two daughters.

But I couldn’t be prouder of my husband and the work he’s doing in Congress. Since day one of his time as CA-25’s Representative, he’s been fighting tirelessly to defend reproductive freedom and ensure that everyone has access to reproductive health care.

I can promise you that Raul will never stop fighting to protect our rights and freedoms — but I can’t say the same for his anti-choice extremist opponent. That’s why it’s so critical we keep CA-25 blue and keep him on the frontlines of the fight for our reproductive freedom.
