Friend –
It’s been two years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, and the consequences for women across the country have been huge. Colorado continues to protect the right to reproductive freedom, and we continue to be a safe haven for women in surrounding states.
The Dobbs decision enabled states with anti-choice leaders to restrict abortion access. In this country right now, women are being made second-class citizens. Extremist elected officials are putting women's lives at risk, and even trying to throw women and doctors in jail.
We cannot allow this extremism to take us back decades. Abortion is health care, and we must protect it. The anniversary of this decision underlines just how important participating in our Democracy is. I am proud that Colorado has accessible elections where every eligible voter has multiple ways to cast their vote. Because, friend, voting for pro-choice leaders is how we will continue to protect the right to bodily autonomy. The attacks on women’s bodies by far-right elected officials have gone on for too long.
You have my promise, as long as I have a say, I will never back down from protecting abortion access and women’s bodily autonomy.
In solidarity,
Jena Griswold
