Today marks two years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and ended the protected constitutional right to access an abortion.
The decision to overturn Roe was once unthinkable, but now we know what can result from a GOP-controlled government. In the last two years, state legislatures nationwide have enacted strict and catastrophic abortion bans. Now we’re seeing some states take it a step further – proposing legislation to prosecute women and doctors, enacting restrictions on IVF, and pushing to limit birth control.
It is no exaggeration to say reproductive rights are on the ballot this November, and I’m up against a MAGA Republican who has boasted of a “100% anti-choice” voting history.
We know that MAGA extremists in the House want a nationwide abortion ban, and there’s no telling what they’ll do if they win the House again in 2024. My toss-up district is one of a handful that will determine House control, so we must do everything we can to keep PA-07 blue.
Regaining our Democratic House Majority in 2024 rests on protecting vulnerable districts like mine so we can keep abortion safe and legal for all Americans.
