Team, it’s Governor Katie Hobbs of Arizona.
Today marks the second anniversary of the Supreme Court’s unjust ruling in the Dobbs decision, overturning Roe v. Wade and almost fifty years of women’s reproductive freedom. In a moment, I want to talk more about the threats that abortion and reproductive rights are facing two years later.
But first, the DGA has launched a Reproductive Rights Petition to send a message to every anti-abortion extremist – that we will not stop fighting to protect abortion access and strengthen reproductive freedom – and I’m asking you to join us, team. Please, add your name before midnight to help us reach our 100,000 signer goal:

Team, I won’t stop fighting until reproductive freedom is secured for all Arizonans. As Governor, I’ve expanded contraception access, vetoed anti-abortion bills from the state legislature, and signed executive orders to protect women and doctors from prosecution.
When the Arizona Supreme Court reinstated a Civil War-era abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest this past April, I immediately reiterated my calls to the legislature to repeal this 1864 ban – and I signed the repeal into law. In November, Arizonans will have the opportunity to enshrine abortion rights in our state constitution for good.
I’m not standing alone. Arizona is just one state where Republicans have passed restrictive bans and even threatened contraception and IVF. Democratic governors nationwide have protected reproductive rights in their states by signing legislation to codify abortion rights into state law, stockpiling abortion medication in the midst of Republican threats, and taking executive action to protect reproductive health care and veto dangerous abortion bans.
But despite our unwavering efforts, Roe v. Wade is still overturned, empowering MAGA extremists everywhere and at every level of government – from state Supreme Court judges like ours here in Arizona, to Donald Trump himself – to continue attacking reproductive freedom.
Team, with these anti-abortion extremists appearing on ballots across the country this November, we know one thing is for certain: we must continue sticking together if we want to win this fight. If you’re with me, please help me send Republicans a message and reaffirm your commitment to reproductive rights by signing our petition now.
