Folks — today marks two years since the Supreme Court overturned DECADES of precedent and overturned Roe v. Wade.

For over fifty years, the right to an abortion was settled and a protected right of privacy. Women were guaranteed the right to access the care they needed, saving lives and allowing people to make their own reproductive healthcare decisions.

And the right-wing justices on the Supreme Court turned the clock back five decades with the Dobbs decision in 2022.

The fallout nationwide has been large and catastrophic. In states across the country, including right here in Arizona, Republicans have tried and successfully enacted extreme restrictions on abortion care and have outright banned patients from seeking care in almost all circumstances in 14 states.

Donald Trump has BRAGGED about being the president to end Roe. It’s clear — the only way we’ll guarantee protections for bodily autonomy is by reelecting President Biden and electing pro-choice Democrats up and down the ballot here in Arizona. 

So I have to ask today — can I count on you to pitch in and help us mobilize a pro-choice majority ahead of November?

I won’t forget how I felt on that day two years ago, but I truly do have hope. We have a real opportunity to enshrine the right to an abortion in our state constitution and elect the pro-choice majority that Arizonans deserve.
