Now it’s time to build our case.

John,

Big news today: The United States Supreme Court has announced that it will consider arguments in United States v. Skrmetti, the case challenging Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming care for trans youth. This means that trans youth, their families, and our amazing legal partners will have their day in court to make the case that these bans are unconstitutional, interfere with private medical decisions, and severely harm families around the country.

Now, we're gearing up to support our legal partners for a defining fight at the Supreme Court that could determine healthcare access for trans youth for years to come. Can you donate $100, $50, or whatever you can to help ensure stories of trans youth are front and center in this fight? ([link removed])

We're not going to sugarcoat it – this is a high-stakes moment. SCOTUS has the potential to deliver a decisive victory for trans youth by striking down these dangerous and discriminatory bans. However, there's also the risk that the Justices could uphold the bans, maintaining a harmful status quo that endangers the lives and well-being of trans youth. Or, of course, the ruling could be something else entirely. Any ruling will likely have a monumental impact on the rights of trans youth – and we have an important role to play in getting the word out.

We know that the Court listens to public opinion and that decisions don't happen in a vacuum. Over the coming months, we will be sharing what we've learned through the Southern Trans Youth Emergency Project with our partners to help showcase just how harmful these bans can be. And we'll be uplifting stories from families of trans youth to bring the fight to the court of public opinion.

States have been playing politics with the lives of trans kids, and this decision could have a huge effect on young people's ability to get the care they deserve close to home. Chip in $100, $50, or whatever you can to help us fight for trans youth. ([link removed])

To be clear, the fact that this case will be heard will not change how the Southern Trans Youth Emergency Project works overnight, and we will continue to work relentlessly to help trans youth access the care they need if they're unable to get it in their home states. Everyone who needs gender-affirming care should be able to access it affordably, and close to home, and we are fighting to make that happen.

Thank you for all that you do,
Allison Scott
