It’s been two years since the Dobbs decision where the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade and stripped women of their right to reproductive health and autonomy.

Every day since then, there have been immoral and dangerous attacks against reproductive rights that turn the clock back on access to safe abortion care. There are now almost two dozen states that have banned or extremely restricted abortion.

Reproductive healthcare is a human right – plain and simple. We must codify Roe v. Wade and protect all reproductive freedoms at a federal level. Sign your name if you agree that everyone deserves the right to make their own healthcare decisions and access to abortion care.

In 1970, at age 21, I went to Albany with members of what was the beginning of the group we now know as NARAL, to lobby in support of a state bill to decriminalize abortion in New York State.

As a young local politician, I watched in awe as George Michaels, a Democrat from an anti-abortion district, stood up and cast the deciding vote to pass the law. He declared that though it may cost him his political career, he could not live with himself if he cast the vote to keep abortion illegal.

That is the kind of political courage we need to show now.

MAGA extremists are now fighting for a total abortion ban that is cruel and an attack on our fundamental freedoms. Medical decisions belong in clinics, not courtrooms and we can’t allow these rights to continue to be stripped away.

As a member of the Pro-Choice Caucus, I will not stop fighting for women’s reproductive rights and freedom. Add your name to stop these dangerous and extreme bans and show this is not what our nation stands for.
