Governor DeWine Announces Nine State Projects Set to Create $217 Million in Investments
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of nine projects that will create 707 new jobs and retain 1,614 jobs statewide.
During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. The projects are expected to result in more than $44 million in new payroll and spur more than $217 million in investments across Ohio.
Goyette Mechanical Company, Inc., city of Hilliard (Franklin County), expects to create 90 full-time positions, generating $7.2 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Hilliard. Goyette is a mechanical contractor that designs, fabricates, welds, assembles, installs, and services complex plumbing, piping, HVAC, and electrical systems for industrial and commercial customers. The proposed project includes the expansion of their Ohio operations to support projects in Ohio and neighboring states. TCA approved a 1.481 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Vantage Data Centers Management Company, LLC; New Albany Data Center, LLC, city of New Albany (Licking County), expects to create 12 full-time positions, generating more than $1.6 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in New Albany. Vantage powers, cools, protects, and connects the technology of hyperscalers, cloud providers, and large enterprises. The proposed project includes a fixed-asset investment of $185 million, including $110 million in building costs and $75 million in machinery costs. TCA approved a 50 percent, 10-year Data Center Sales Tax Credit for this project.
Millennium Control Systems LLC, city of Beachwood (Cuyahoga County), expects to create 40 full-time positions, generating $4 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Beachwood. Millennium provides engineered control systems and software solutions for glass, metal, rubber, paper, and other industries. The proposed project includes leasing a space that allows the company to expand its industrial automation line to support the electric vehicle industry. TCA approved a 1.515 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
A.R.E. Accessories, LLC, city of Massillon and village of Navarre (Stark County), expects to create 111 full-time positions, generating more than $5.6 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Massillon and Navarre. A.R.E. manufactures fiberglass truck caps, hard tonneau covers, and accessories for a network of authorized dealers across the U.S. and Canada. The proposed project includes expanding two existing facilities to allow for increased production of the company’s current products and introducing a new product line to meet rising market demand. TCA approved a 1.311 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
4myBenefits, Inc., city of Blue Ash (Hamilton County), expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating $3 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Blue Ash. 4myBenefits provides benefits administration services for employers to automate employee benefits, payroll, and human capital management processes utilized by insurance brokers, benefit consultants, banks, and other benefit intermediaries. The proposed project includes the renovation of leased office space to ensure the space has amenities for employees and space for hosting existing and new clients. TCA approved a 1.240 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Dayton-Phoenix Group, city of Dayton (Montgomery County), expects to create 115 full-time positions, generating $5.5 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Dayton. Dayton-Phoenix Group supplies components and systems for locomotive, railroad, and industrial markets, with products including braking resistors, HVAC, air compressors, and other vital components for customers worldwide. The proposed project includes expanding the company’s current facility, which will allow growth in production capacity for projects in the mining and locomotive industries. TCA approved a 1.303 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Enerfab Power & Industrial, LLC, city of Harrison and Cincinnati (Hamilton County), expects to create 44 full-time positions, generating more than $4.1 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Harrison. Enerfab offers tank fabrication, engineering, and related project management services for fabricated steel products and field services that are utilized across chemical, oil/gas, food/beverage, and wastewater industries. The proposed project includes acquiring a new building where the company will relocate existing operations from an out-of-state facility. The new site would include a new integrated pipe module assembly process. TCA approved a 1.488 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Haag-Streit USA, Inc., city of Mason (Warren County), expects to create 15 full-time positions, generating more than $1.4 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s consolidation project in Mason. Haag-Streit manufactures exam and procedure chairs, surgical stools, instrument delivery systems, treatment cabinets, and room lighting systems for ophthalmic medical practices. The proposed project includes the consolidation of two existing facilities into one location and the renovation and expansion of the larger facility to house additional staff and production. TCA approved a 1.343 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Westafo America LLC, city of Trotwood (Montgomery County), expects to create 230 full-time positions, generating more than $12 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Trotwood. Westafo is a manufacturer of customized medium and high voltage power transformers for energy storage and industrial applications including renewable energy generation through solar, wind, and hydrogen. The proposed project includes the long-term lease of a new facility that will be home to the company’s first North American production facility. TCA approved a 1.778 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
