John,
We are just days away from the Mass Poor People’s and Low-Wage Workers’ Assembly and Moral March on Washington, DC and to the Polls! By the 1,000s we are coming from across the country as a forward together, nonviolent resurrection, NOT a divisive insurrection! When 800 people die each day from poverty. We must go out into the streets and cry: This is an unacceptable and abolishable reality! Our votes are demands! Fight Poverty! NOT the Poor! Forward Together! NOT One Step Back!

My name is Angie Whitehurst and I live in Washington DC. Poverty comes in all shapes, sizes and forms. It is a state of pay the taxes or lose the house. Pay the electric or gas bill or freeze to death or burn up and die from heat exhaustion. I and many people across the country are hanging from the cliff.
Homelessness and poverty tend to go hand and hand. I have been there too and it can happen to anyone for many reasons. It’s the same whether you are left with nowhere to go; you got put out; the locks were changed; you got a divorce; or for many other reasons.
Poverty is a manmade construct, parallel to racism. That is manmade too. Neither should exist. When we make the change to no such thing, neither of these man-made states of existence will be missed. Let’s make it Now.
This is why I’m going to Washington, DC on June 29th! We demand that those running for office commit to enacting our 17-Point Agenda, which includes living wages, voting rights, and other essential policies that lift from the bottom.
John, will you join me?
This is a time for a mass mobilization of consciousness around our 3rd Reconstruction social justice agenda that can expand democracy and human rights to ALL people. I am counting on you to join me!
Forward together,
Angie Whitehurst
